Hailing from Warrington, Cheshire - UK, Psychiatric
Challenge began life as a duo in 1999 and
has since expanded its lineup to four permanent
members. Lewis Gill, Niel Packer, Harry Gallimore
and Ian Simpson play prepared guitar, analogue
synthesizers and other lo-fi equipment to
create dense soundscapes.
Although the majority of their work is recorded
live, "echoes of madges kitchen"
(on Stasisfield's sonic planar analysis
:: 01 compilation) is actually a remix
of one of their live improvs produced by Simpson,
who also helms the Electronic
Musik label.
