Guitarist Scott Kane and electronics/bassist
John Kannenberg formed the experimental improv
group Wireshock in 1997. Exploring a wide
range of sounds, the duo staged an eclectic
series of live performances in the midwestern
U.S. which saw them switch rapidly between
guitar-heavy improv rock, ambient drones,
minimalist phase experiments and noise.
Although now living across the country from
each other, Wireshock continues their collaboration
long distance. Exchanging ideas via mail and
occasional recording sessions via telephone
have produced the beginnings of a new body
of work.
