Michael Farley, aka The Beige Channel, began this suite of short pieces by recording himself pulling up carpet tacks. Processing, editing, and the addition of subtle mists of guitar and synthesizer lead to a collection of explorations of the interplay of melody, rhythm and silence. Varied in structure and gorgeous in tone, the work balances foreground and void to create a swathe of atmospheric sonic events both tied to and divorced from the mundane process of labor from which the structure of the piece was derived.
