Matthew Chiabotti, who often works under the project name em.chia, is a graphic designer and audio cartographer. His recent work explores the distributed environments of the World Wide Web by using the browser as both delivery mechanism and performance instrument. Using an array of browser plug-ins as live DJ tools,and turning directly to the ethereal bitstream of webcasts and embedded sound files for his sources he maps the terrain of the web as a unique space existing only temporarily in the form of conenctions and referential relationships.
