DIGITAL IMAGERY - VERSION 1.0

Sound and digital images in different combinations comprise the majority of this exhibition's content. The images created for this exhibition which stand by themselves without other supplemental media approach image-making from two distinctly different perspectives.

Alessandra's raking light triptych presents studies of light and texture recorded in the raw, free of any post-production or artificial lighting effects. The images in this series are minimalist in both their creation and their end result, as the interplay of natural light on texture creates a sense of quiet contemplation.

Fee Dickson's mothlight + icarus pieces are the exact opposite: carefully prepared, painstakingly lit and dynamically composed, these images flaunt their artificiality while grounding the viewer in nature: images of insects and shadowy human figures place the visuals in the "real world" while immersing the viewer in semi-mythical constructed environments.

DIGITAL IMAGERY + AUDIO - VERSION 1.0

David Brady's crixle + hytic combine mp3 audio and screen captures created by a malfunctioning Nintendo GameBoy™. With references to the history of video games as their starting point, these pieces challenge the audience to determine whether their content is composed or random.
