A Still Life is ART. I approached this project as how an artist could create a still life in the 21st Century. Being a visual artist that incorporates sound, I felt that both the still life and the setting was an important aspect in my piece. Incorporating what I learned from drawing or painting the still life, the surroundings become part of it. So why let the still life set in the studio only for the artist to create from? Put it in the arena where the patrons may enjoy viewing it, critiquing it — and becoming part of it.
