My original intent was to capture the delicate sound of a sugar cube melting. After trying numerous approaches, I soon realized that there wasn't an easy way to isolate the sound considering how quiet the melting actually is. The fact that I was using water made this quite difficult as well. I decided to use the sound of the dripping water to my advantage by combining it with the sound of the sugar and the surrounding environment. The end result is a hauntingly destructive sound that mimics the process of the sugar cube melting.
